It runs fine in the browser, but installing it gives you an icon on the home screen, full screen without browser bars, and it keeps working with no signal on the ramp.
Use Safari for this. Other browsers on iPhone may save a plain shortcut that still opens with browser bars.
Open it once with signal so it can store itself. From then on it works offline: every calculation happens on your own phone, nothing is sent anywhere. To update it, just open it again with signal.
